V-Day et al

So we survived another Valentine’s Day. Bully for us. Mine was a simple Thursday. Just Thursday. No love. No booty calls. No flowers. No calls - not even from people whom I expected to call me!

I contemplated going to see a movie, but I didn’t have the energy. I found, however, enough energy to make myself a tasty taco meal, and I allowed myself a chocolate eclair dessert, which I ate while watching Lipstick Jungle.

I like the concept of shows focused on power women and their relationship problems.

I’ve decided that I much prefer Cashmere Mafia to Lipstick Jungle. Not that I won’t watch both, but if I had my preference, it would be Cashmere all the way. First of all, yes, we’re talking about power women, but the writers of Lipstick Jungle are expecting us to believe that all three of the women — the best friends — are on the 25 most powerful women list. I don’t think there’s enough room in your average limo for that much ego.

I enjoy the characters in Cashmere Mafia more — particularly Lucy Liu’s character — and like that they’re not all incredibly famous and worthy of paparazzi.

I keep mentioning the show to my male friends, but somehow they can’t seem to get on board with my suggestion. I wonder why!

techno-cheaters

There’s a new column today, and it’s all about techno-cheating. Specifically, the dastardly people who use their cell phones, particularly text messages, as a cheating device.

I have first-hand experience with this — where someone that I was dating was making plans with his, well . . . hoes, via text. It’s not fun. And what happens when you bust them? Maybe you sneak and look at their phones, or perhaps you read the message over their shoulders. What happens then? What is the reaction?

Read the column, and then let me know what you think.
