BREAKING NEWS: Star Jones Files for Divorce

Star Jones has filed for divorce from husband Al Reynolds. In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, Jones says: “Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce. The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman.”

Okay Gina, here’s a question for you as well as any of the other ladies here who might want to chime in. Why do women like Star Jones, Terry McMillan, etc., marry guys who are gay in the first place? Is it that they don’t realize they’re gay, or think they can change them, or what?
I’ve never understood that. Enlighten me, please.
Now, Damon, you know that people who visit my site are silent lurkers!! Anyhoo . . . I don’t get it myself. Everyone knew about Big Gay Al, including Star, who read the same press that we read — she knew that there were Al sightings at Fire Island parties — she knew that straight men don’t plan such festive and elaborate proposals. But, she wanted a man. By any means necessary.
The problem with women like Star (unattractive and relatively wealthy) is that they’re starved for affection and will overlook even the most obvious warning signs to be in a relationship - and actually I don’t know that I can contain that statement to “women like Star,” because there are a lot of women out there who behave similarly.
I don’t know what’s really running through their heads, but by my estimation, they’re probably saying that everything will be okay. The man can neglect who is for the sake of their marriage. If the woman keeps her head firmly planted in her ass, she might not notice the warning signs.
The trouble is that it always comes out. And after shouting her happiness to the rooftops, she has to backpedal and admit that she made a mistake.
Sad.
